Citing Your Sources
In Mrs. Tickner's Classes

Back to Psychology

When you use reference sources for your class assignments, you need to "cite" them in order to document where you found the information that you are presenting.  Your teacher will usually tell you which format to use in citing resources, such as the MLA or APA formats.  Below are some outlines of how to cite different resources using the MLA Handbook for Writers of Research Papers (4th ed., 1995) style.  You will substitute the information from your source for the generic information in each citation.  If no author is given, start with and alphabetize by the title of the piece and use a shortened version of the title for parenthetical citations.
