Kids who are involved in making music in their teenage years score higher on the SATs and are more likely to pursue a college degree than those who are not involved in music.
A recent Rockefeller Foundation study discovered that music students have the highest rate of admittance to medical schools.
Playing a musical instrument strengthens eye-hand coordination and fine motor skills.
Music has an obvious impact on brain development, reading and math skills.
 Students in band develop higher cognitive skills and  abilities in analyzing and evaluating information.
Students in band learn how to get along and work together towards a common goal.
